Brief history of Centre

The University Senate approved the KWASU Centre for Gender Studies to begin operations on 18th August 2025. On the same date, The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, appointed Dr.  Latifat Kehinde OLATINWO of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension Services and Dr. Hafsat Omolola OLAWUYI of the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages as the as pioneer Acting Director and Assistant Director for the centre respectively.

Mission

To create and develop a highly competent and successful center for multidisciplinary research, teaching, training, advocacy, and policy on issues impacting men and women, in accordance with the prevailing principles of the Kwara State University environment and beyond.

Vision

To be a one-stop centre of excellence on gender related issues.
